I was raised in family with six kids. We didn't have very much money and at one point, my dad was working three jobs just to make ends meet. While it was a difficult time, it really taught me a great deal about the value of money, which carried on into my adulthood.
My husband and I are fortunate in that we don't struggle in the same way my parents did, regardless, we always try to save money whenever possible. We live by this philosophy; it's not how much you make, it's how much you keep. However, as a busy Mom with three kids, it's difficult to find the time to clip coupons from newspapers and go from store to store to find the best sale. Three years ago, as I was 8 months pregnant with my last baby, I just couldn't bare going out in the snow to make my way through the crowds to do my Christmas shopping. So I decided I would do ALL of my Christmas shopping online. I had purchased a few things online before, but never the amount I was about to conquer.
After an hour of researching the items on my list, I was excited (and a little surprised) about how easy the stores made it to shop online. I saw an option during checkout to add a 'coupon or promotion code' at the end of my order. I tried to search for coupons online, but had a hard time sorting through all the cluttered sites to find the exact one I was looking for. However, within a few hours, I was done with Christmas. Not only did I save a lot of time and money, but the items were hand-delivered to me by a cute UPS guy within a week. I was hooked from then on.
Since that experience, there are more online stores than ever before and the checkout is even easier. However, the coupon sites haven't evolved at all. They are still messy, confusing and very hard to navigate. I asked my husband, Jeremy (who is a website developer, and I must add, cuter than the UPS guy) to build a coupon site that was clean and easy to use. After a labor of love, our fourth child, CouponPal was born.
Together, we created a site that has a simple design and the best search capabilities available on the web. We offer coupons from thousands of online stores and we also have individual relationships with merchants, so we can offer exclusive deals. The entire site is run by Jeremy and me, with a little help from our 'Coupon Pals' who enter in daily coupons and special offers. This kind of personal attention will ensure that this site is up-to-date with the best and most current online coupons.
